I have recently asked of all the folks who have used our online registration
system, whether or not the process worked well for them. I have received an
unanimous positive response from this. Take a moment to check it out when
you are able. This is by far the fastest and easiest way for you to
register your child for summer camp or one of our retreats. Benefits to
this method include, more accurate information posting and updating,
immediate confirmation, personal account through which you can check the
status of your account 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

As you may have already noticed, there have been several attempts to improve the Camp Cherokee experience over the last few months. Among some of the most noticeable changes perhaps are the following:
In addition to these changes, there are also many good updates being made to the physical site in preparation for your children this year and this summer. On top of the months of deep cleaning and repairs that have been conducted by our talented Site Manager, Craig Clark, we are also in the midst of completing an "Ultimate Makeover" of the Red and Blue Cabins.
These masonry cabins have been in need of some major help for years (I know first hand because they look just like they did when I was a camper many moons ago, just with additional years of wear and tear on them). Our goal is to give a facelift to each cabin with will at least include the following:
While our goal is to have the Red Cabin completely finished by the summer, it is my hope that all of them will be completed by the end of the summer, with the very possible exception of the bathroom as this is taking more time and outside contracting to complete.
Now I know that the idea of Air Conditioners in the cabins may be controversial, in fact, when I was a camper and counselor I would have been the worst critic of such a change. The fact is, though that when used properly, these units will not take the wilderness out of the experience, they will mostly just take the mold out and provide us with some desperately needed year round additional space for rentals and retreats.
At any rate I would love to see this posting start a discussion and exercise this blogging thing that I am new to.
Until later,
